A Ninja's Tale: Love and Betrayal

Characters:

Felina: Main Character. Kunoichi of Destiny
Jinno: Felina's Father. Head of their clan
Chun: Top Medical Ninja in the village
Moro: Gaurdian of the eastern region

Chapter Fourteen: A Fighting Chance.

- Felina awoke the next morning. The sun shone brightly through her drapery. She was still in her kunoichi outfit. She sat for a moment in disbelief. She was dirty and her fur was clumped together from her crying. She got out of bed and an to the medical bay.  She stood by the room she remebered leaving Andoro in. She grabbed the sliding door and slowly slid it open. She fell to her knees and wept softly. He was still there, now covered by a blanket. Chun ran over to Felina when she noticed her on the floor. She picked her up and held her.-

Felina: I can't believe it...
Chun: Felina...
Felina: I touched him...
Chun: Felina....darling..
Felina: I must be dreaming!!
Chun: Felina! You brought him here yesterday...

- While Chun fights to calm Felina down. Jinno enters the room. He looks mournfully at Andoro and then turns his attention to his daughter.-

Jinno: Felina? Are you okay sweetie?

- She broke free of Chun's grip and huged her father.-

Jinno: Chun? How is he? Has Andoro shown any improvement?
Chun: He has no vitals..no pulse. I concluded today...that around 5:12am...he died.
Felina: No...no, no, NO! (wimpers) Andoro...

- Moro appeared before them in her Anthro form. Her sacred robes glowing an illuminous blue. Everyone looked at her in shock and disbelief. Moro stood there for a moment, completely ignoring their presence. She then looked up a moment later.-

Moro: He...is not dead.
Jinno: Moro are you certain? How can that be? The boy isn't even breathing!
Moro: The boy is not dead. I'm afraid he is near death though.
Felina: What do you mean? Moro please! Tell me how you know?
Moro: In do time you will learn how to as well. I can feel his life energies. He is fighting a ruthless battle with that curse of his.
Felina: Moro...can you save him?
Moro: I cannot.
Felina: Please Moro! You are a Gaurdian! You have to be able to do something!
Moro: I don't have the power. Child this...very though..this knowledge of knowing I cannot help him tears away at my very soul.
Felina: !
Moro: I know you want to help him. I do too...but we cannot save my (Moro stops in mid sentences and looks away. She stared Felina in her eyes and begin to cry.)
We cannot help him by just standing around shedding tears.  He has a fighting chance. That should enstill some hope in you because it does me. We can do...nothing for him. All we can do is pray for the better.

- Felina looks at Andoro's body and she walks over to the bed. She hesitated and pulled the blanket from over his cover face. She planted a kiss on his forehead and silently prayed. Moro watched for a moment and then left without a word. Chun followed behind trying to answer the call of a patient. Only she and Jinno remained in the room. Felina turned around and hugged her father. They stood for a moment watching the corspe on the table. They left the medical bay and headed off in different directions. Jinno stopped and turned around.-

Jinno: Felina!
Felina: ?!
Jinno: He will come back to us.
Felina: I know he will soon.

- Jinno went to tell Son what had transpired. Felina went to the bath house and washed herself. When she returned to her room, she put her clothes in a basket and laid in her bed.-

Felina: When I awake tomorrow. You'll be here beside me. You'll be here and we can finally be happy. The way you've always wanted it....Andoro.
